Colleges that Participated: - The event consisted of 8 teams that had participated in the contest
from NMIMS Hyderabad (2 teams), FMS Delhi, IIT Roorkee, Delhi school of Economics,
Amity Mumbai, SIBM Pune, and International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi.
About the Event: - The event consisted of two rounds and every round was about strategically
selecting (prioritizing) and selling the products only to the students of Bits. In the first round a
range of products where given with limited availability of each product and students were
suppose to choose the products based on their priority. Incase of selection of similar product by
any two teams, the team with the highest priority was given the first preference and in case the
preference was the same the students had to bid for the product. In both the rounds the products
that we chose were in the descending order of the prices and the products could be sold the
maximum mark up to only 25%.

Mr Jaspreet Singh Dhingra, PGDM Batch 2011-13 won the third prize in "NIVESH" (a Portfolio Management Event), which was a part of SANSKRITI'13, the national level management fest conducted by Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad on 22-23rd January 2013. The competition comprised three rounds.
Round 1: Online virtual equity trading
Round 2: It was a case study competition following which ten students got selected for final presentation
Round 3: Ten students who got selected were asked to prepare a presentation, emphasising on the strategies they
apply in Trading and Portfolio Management. Among these ten students, Mr Jaspreet stood third and received a cash prize of INR 3000.
Well Done
The students of NMIMS, Hyderabad Campus have done us proud by participanting and winning
laurels at Trishna 2013, the Annual National level Inter B School Competition organized by IBS
Hyderabad on 16,17 and 18th Jan, 2013. Our students competed with students of the best B
schools in the country which included IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, ISB,
MICA, IFMR, SIBM.

About :
In the midst of a Global Meltdown, where every firm was muddling in a vicious swamp, the
firm was in need of a MANAGER, who would turn the organization around to reach the
pinnacle of new heights. Megistanos was a three day event to select the best among the best, a
person who would out perform others with his/her perfect blend of knowledge, skills, persona
and attitude. Megistanos as an event was designed to identify the hidden manager within each
of the participants.
All-in-all Megistanos was an event which tested the creativity, insights, knowledge, managerial
ability, ethics and above all the perseverance of an individual. It was a three day 24X7 event. It
had 27 contenders competing to prove their mettle. Explained below are the highlights of
various rounds across the three days and eight rounds. The first six rounds were elimination
rounds.
Day 1:
Round 1-Operations:
Skills tested: Negotiation, Sturdiness of design, Logic and structure of the approach, and
ability to implement.
Round 2-Finance:
Skills tested: Financial acumen, Investment analysis
DAY 2:
Round 3-Economics and Marketing:
Skills tested: Flexibility, Marketer’s insight.
Round 4-Startegy design, HR:
Skills tested: Analytical ability, Negotiation, Handling of conflict, Decision making in the
worst case scenario.
Round 5-Strategic Implementation and approach to markets.
Skills tested: Thinking on one’s feet, Ability to Market the product.
Round 6- Business Networking and socialization.
Skills tested: Networking, Finesse, and Elevator pitching in social forums.
DAY 3:
Round 7: Assembly to Delivery (Treasure hunt).
Skills: tested Agility, Stamina, and ability to follow abstract cues.
Round 8: Final round
Skills tested: Stress handling and Creativity, Innovation, Boldness, adherence to ethics, ability
to brush off undignified attacks with finesse.
INCENDO
Mr. Karan Goenka and Mr. Aniket Vaidya of PGDM 2012-14 from NMIMS
Hyderabad won Incendo – a photography competition held by Nazaria during Trishna. A
three-day event started off with elimination round through online mode where the theme was
‘Indian Women – My Perception’. After getting shortlisted in the online contest, the students
were invited on the campus for further rounds which consisted of three stages in which they were
asked to work on different themes like an ad campaign, pictogram- 5 photos in a series- which
conveyed the message of “Possessiveness” and the last round was to play with the lights.
A total of 10 photographs were submitted by each team in the 4 rounds and were marked
cumulatively on each theme. The event tested the conceptual as well as technical knowledge of
students about the photography, framing, image composition and the most important creativity.
Each round consisted of presentation of final photographs. Also the justifications were taken by
the judge Mr. Amit Kumar, an alumnus of IBS and a co-founder of Nazaria, Photography club of
IBS-Hyderabad.

CROSSROADS
This was an event that was based on Enterprenuership. 50 teams were selected out of which 5
teams reached the finalist stage.T he following students were one of the finalist team

"Well Done - Winners" - Team Vijrumbh consisting of Mr Vinay Kumar Vadla and Ms Nitya Malladi –
PGDM Batch 2011-13 from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies – Hyderabad has won
the First prize in Vivarann – the stock pitch competition, which was a part of Advait, the annual management fest of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Kolkata on 02 Dec 2012.
The competition comprised three rounds. The first round was an online quiz
which tested the Finance acumen of the teams. 27 teams were shortlisted after the first round. These teams were asked to make a pitch report on one
of the stocks from a selected list of 8 stocks for the second round. Following which, five teams were shortlisted for the Final round. NMIMS Hyderabad’s
team was one of these final five teams.
The Final round was conducted on 2nd December 2012 and it consisted of
two rounds. The first round was a simulation round and second round was a presentation of the pitch report. Team Vijrumbh has topped both the rounds
and emerged as the champion. The team has received cash prize of INR 25,000. The final has witnessed participation from one team from MDI and
two teams from IIFT.

Mr Pranay Veer of PGDM Batch 2011-12 won the National Level Summer Internship Project Presentation Contest conducted by Faculty of Management Studies Institute of Rural Management, Jaipur on 12-13 Oct 2012. He has been adjudged first in Finance Stream amongst the participants of the contest.
