Health
World Health Organization (WHO) definition of Health:
• Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Wellness
–noun
• 1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, esp. as the result of deliberate effort.
• 2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.

• Displaying proactive behaviours that lead to achieving one’s own potential, including the promotion of good health through healthy living and working safely with others

• 35% Heart Disease• 17% Cancer• 9% - 15% Diabetes • 5% Accidents• 3% HIV (AIDS)
Preventing Heart Disease:
• Don't smoke or use tobacco products• Get active• Heart-healthy diet• Healthy weight• Lower stress• Regular health screenings
Cancer:
Estimated that 80% of cancer can be prevented!
• 35% - 60% Diet• 30% Tobacco• 5% Air and Water Pollution• 3% Alcohol• 3% Radiation• 2% Medications
Preventing Pre-diabetes:
• Eat a healthy lower-fat and low calorie diet;
• Exercise moderately (about 30 minutes a day on most days of the week)
• Lose 5-7% of your body weight.
