3WOMEN EXECUTIVES IN THE MEDIA NETWORK
Dear Colleagues,
I am really pleased to welcome you to the first Women executives in the media network (Wem) meeting.
Wem is made for you.
Wem is the first forum for those of us who hold positions of responsibility at the top of our media industries. We need to share; we need to support each other; we need to meet.
Wem is different as it is not a virtual network: we will discuss and exchange face to face.
To launch this first meeting, we have invited mrs michèle Cotta who has been a top executive in France and can share her experiences and views with us on topics that are of interest to us all.
best regards,
Ingrid DeltenreDirector general, ebu

17WOMEN EXECUTIVES IN THE MEDIA NETWORK
Dear Mrs Deltenre,
I would like to thank you for your kind invitation to the Women Executives in the Media Network meeting. I am very pleased and appreciate the initiative the EBU took to organize this. I do agree that it is our duty, as women and executives, to emphasize the importance of increasing female participation in the labour market and leadership roles.
Unfortunately, I have to decline the invitation because of my other work commitments.
I am absolutely convinced the meeting will prove a great success, though. The EBU is an important media organization, with the reputation of encouraging women to develop their careers, pursue their ambitions and aspire to senior management positions.
I support the initiative and believe that equality should be a fundamental right and a common principle in the workplace. I find it beneficial to create such a forum to share experience and knowledge to offer a helping hand to climb the career ladder.
Equality is also high on the agenda of Polskie Radio. Polskie Radio realized that women’s economic engagement is critical to overall company performance. It therefore does its best to provide female employees with multiple opportunities to develop their full potential and help them to reconcile work and family life by creating many facilities.
Best regards,
Jolanta WisniewskiMember of the BoardPolskie Radio
