FOCUS.Team Post: Cllr Darren Fower, Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough PE1 1HG
IT’S YOUR CHOICE – LOCAL ACTIVIST OR TORY PUPPET Only hours before the polls open for the council elections in Werrington, one
thing is clear. It is a ‘two horse race’ between local resident Julia Davidson,
your Liberal Democrat FOCUS Team candidate, and the Tory candidate.
Everyone agrees that Labour cannot win this election. Just look at the
results of elections here over the past few years (see graph below).
People who vote Labour in national elections have told Lib Dem councillor
Darren Fower they are voting for Julia in this election to keep the Tories out.
The choice on Thursday is clear – it is a choice between local Lib Dem
activist Julia Davidson, who campaigns to get things done in this area, and a
councillor who does and votes as he is told by council leader Marco Cereste.
So, how you vote on Thursday matters. You will be electing your local
councillor to represent you, your community and your family.
Your vote can change the way our city council is run. Just one vote –
maybe your vote – can make the difference!
DARREN SAYS … On Thursday you will elect a city
councillor to work with Lib Dem
Darren Fower, who remains a
councillor until 2013.
Darren said: “Werrington and
Gunthorpe need an active councillor
who will fight to get this area noticed
by the council – not another Tory
puppet who will vote as directed to
give Town Hall bosses a quiet life.
“Julia Davidson is the only candidate
who lives in this ward and will work
tirelessly with me to represent you.”

Of course, it is what residents say
with their votes that really counts.
The last time the incumbent Tory
councillor stood for election, less
than 20 per cent of those entitled to
vote actually voted for him!
Lib Dem FOCUS Editor Julia
Davidson lives in this ward – unlike
any of the other candidates. She is
actively involved in producing the
regular FOCUS newsletters (how
often do you hear from the Tories?)
and in delivering them in the area
around her home in Fulbridge Road.

Cllr Colin Burton, the most expensive and least active of our local
councillors, is the Tory candidate on Thursday.
So would you like to see Cllr Burton back in the Town Hall - or an
active local Lib Dem FOCUS Team councillor who lives in this ward?
