The Greater Wesley Chapel area enjoys a vibrant business community. It is a place where businesses, local organizations, and private citizens partner together to provide innovative solutions for the challenges facing our area as it grows. The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce is the voice and ears of the community, responsive to the ever changing needs and concerns. Founded in 1998, the Chamber has seen amazing growth. Today, the Chamber has 479 members, and is here to serve our business community. We are actively involved in local government, regional economic development and providing valuable resources to our members. Many of the best ideas come from collaboration. That’s why we’re so lucky to have 16 diverse perspectives on the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The leadership of the board comes from a wide variety of industries from businesses big and small. Our group uses its expertise, experience and leadership to guide our strategic direction, determining our policies and positions. Our Chamber has three main areas of focus: Economic Development, Community Development and Membership Development. Each area is chaired by a member of the board of directors and is tasked with setting the program of work for the year, to actively engage the business community in programs and events that contribute to the development of a positive busi-ness climate. With a focus to strengthen the Chamber’s profile as an organi-zation committed to the successful growth and development of its members.

Economic DEvElopmEnt The Economic Development Division encourages economic development in the Wesley Chapel Area through advocacy, policy and program develop-ment support for existing businesses and recruitment of new businesses. Current priorities are to position the Chamber as a regional leader, and serve as a resource partner with local economic development entities, and provide information on new developments and local government topics that may affect your business.

community DEvElopmEnt Community development covers education and governmental relations. We strive to stimulate investments from the business community to the education system initiatives by identifying and linking opportunities. For our Governmental relations, our goal is to create a pro-business environment through informative governmental initiatives.

mEmbErship DEvElopmEnt Very simply- this is the foundation of our organization. AMBASSADOR COuNCIL Ambassadors are highly visible, prestigious volunteers who serve as the Chamber’s primary liaison to new Chamber members. Considered the goodwill arm of the Chamber, the Ambassador committee plays an essential role in member recruitment, communication and retention, and each Ambassador is charged with conveying member needs, questions and concerns to Chamber staff, keeping our Chamber in line with our members’ desires. upon their appointment, each Ambassador makes a commitment to build lasting relationships with the membership, particularly new Chamber members, in order to build a loyal, committed membership base that will continue to support, participate and invest in the Chamber. Hockey Facilityouth hockey booster Gordie Zimmerman is the development group leader building a 150,500 square foot hockey arena located at I-75 and S.R 56 in Wesley Chapel. Zimmerman is looking to

close on a 13-acre site for this project at a $2.64 million dollar price. With construction estimated to be around $20 million, He expects to be finished in fall 2015. This facility will hold four ice rinks including one that is Olympic sized. Other uses for this facility include figure and public skating, lacrosse, soccer and fitness training. u
