Ahoy WCYC

So we wrap up another cruising season, and a successful one it was! We had great participation throughout the season; new members, new friends and new boats! I want to thank everyone who attended cruises and helped out, especially our cruise captains. I hope every-one enjoyed the season and have new friends and many memories.

We owe a great big thank you to Long Beach Yacht Club for hosting our final October cruise. I encourage all WCYC members to visit LBYC; it is a great venue and a privilege to have reciprocal there. You can enjoy lunch, dinner or just a drink. They love having us, and we can say “thanks” by patronizing the club. Just bring your WCYC membership card, and you are “in.”

Our year continues with our November dinner and wraps up with the December brunch. I hope everyone can attend the dinner and December brunch to participate in the changing of the Flags and annual awards. The December brunch always is a good time filled with surprises, stories, and…SAWHORSES.

Finally, we all owe a big thank you to Commodore and Cindy Gill, who have worked tirelessly to assure a good season. His steady hand on the tiller made it easy for me to arrange and schedule the cruises and make a good season for all. I am excited for the 2017 cruising season, as Rear Commodore Sicard has a great schedule planned.

As always, thank you for the privilege of serving as your Vice Com-modore. I look forward to seeing everyone at our next two events.

Fair winds and Following Seas, Jim McNamara

CRUISE TO LONG BEACH– OCTOBER 2016

Thank you Mike and Kathy Lindstrom and Steve and Brenda VandenBerg for hosting the cruise at Long Beach. Everyone had a great time and the effort you put in is much appreciated.

The cruise started off with appetizers and dinner at the Long Beach Yacht Club. For those of you who sailed/motored it was a long day and we ended the night early .

Saturday began with a beautiful morning and a breakfast buffet hosted by our cruise captains. In the afternoon, the Lindstrom’s took us for a cruise to the Queen Mary and San Pedro. Pretty spectacular view from the ocean. Some pictures below.

In the evening we had “make your own pizza” with every topping imaginable. What a great idea and everyone enjoyed it. We finished off the evening listening to some music on the back of the Monk’s boat. If you love mu-sic then Dave & Monique’s boat is the place.

Thank You Cruise Captains for a very fun evening.
