opened in 2002, the West green learning Centre at Park View works in partnership with a number of training providers to deliver quality learning and training opportunities for people who live or work in the West green neighbourhood and the surrounding areas.

We are open monday to thursday 9am to 9pm and on saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Hire of the Centre outside of these house may be possible upon request, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

once received, we will send you a confirmation letter along with a receipt for your payment. If the course you have chosen is either full or results in cancellation, your payment will be returned to you in full.

all course fees are payable in full at the time of enrolment.

once you have paid your fees we will only give you a full refund if we have to cancel the class for any reason.

We accept payment by cash or cheque (with cheque guarantee card) or postal orders. Unfortunately we are not able to accept credit card or debit card payments.

For some courses you will have to pay an examination or registration fee, this will be in addition to course fees and is non-refundable.

If you are in receipt of certain state benefits or are a senior citizen you may be entitled to a full or partial reduction in course fees.

If you think you might be entitled to pay the concessionary fee you must bring proof of benefit entitlements, proof of address and photographic identity when you come to enrol.

as well as offering a comprehensive learning Programme, the centre also has several training rooms including 2 well equipped ICt suites, a number of small meeting rooms and an auditorium which can be used for film screenings, presentations, lectures etc.

all of which are available for hire by local businesses at very reasonable rates. We also offer further discounted rates to community groups, charities and voluntary organisations.

over the years, the West green learning Centre has been host to many exciting events, productions and courses such as:

• Kids Collective which screens movies for children fortnightly on saturday mornings;

• Haringey Independent Cinema which screens monthly movies;

• The annual school productions from nearby downhill’s Primary school;

• Computing, Arts and Crafts for the over 60’s organised by the West green neighbourhood office;

• National Read a book Day;

• KUSH Film Club Screenings;

• 100 Black Men Mentoring Project.

the centre is often hired by the local authority and Haringey tPCt to run staff training, seminars and launches, making it an integral part of the community.

Interested in filmmaking? got a good story to tell? multi award winning filmmaker Ken Fero will help to get you on your way in this unique course aimed for local people with a passion for cinema.

You will learn the process of filmmaking from initial idea through to pre-production, shooting and editing. over the course you will make a short documentary film that will be screened in our cinema.

this is a practically grounded course where you will be introduced to digital camera, lighting, sound and editing as well as the basic practical lessons of how to get a film made. the course is

hands on with personal tuition based around the production of a film.

the film can be used as part of your show-reel to progress onto media training. You will get a dVd copy of the film produced. You will also get a Certificate of Participation from migrant media, the internationally renowned film company that have organised this course.
