Real Love Rocks Primary and Secondary training is nearly full! There are just a few places remaining! Real Love Rocks is a prevention programme run by Barnardo’s, that focuses on helping children and young people to think about and discuss relationships, what they are and how to keep happy and safe in them, whether that’s now or in the future. It is fully interactive with fun, animated videos that support the content of learning.

A new draft guideline from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is aimed at helping more professionals who work with children recognise and respond to any form of abuse and neglect. The final guidance is expected in the Autumn.

The Safer Sleeping Messages for Babies Workshop which ran on 7th March was a huge success! This 2 hour workshop was delivered by the Lullaby Trust and a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and was aimed at those professionals who have not previously received training around safer sleeping practices for babies under 6 months. Feedback from those who attended was extremely positive and included an increase in confidence around  sleeping positions and messages to pass onto parents and carers. Due to popular demand there will be another session coming soon. Watch this space for more details or keep an eye on the Learning Gateway!
