Committee Goals

Council Meetings

• Streamline the process• Everyone gets a say, but if the conversation isn’t leading to

business action, it is sideways energy (busyness without productivity).

• Get all business on agenda ahead of time, come prepared. Be direct - as if you were speaking to a legislative committee.

• Should be fun, not stressful. Maintain a healthy atmosphere. You can disagree without being negative or sarcastic. Learn diplomacy (read “Getting To Yes” by Roger Fisher)

• Present new ideas, but development should occur within committee.

• Schedule fun or informative speakers at the end of each meeting.
