• Vale Council Consultation on future of West Way started with Your Vale – Your Future (2007)
• Preferred Options were published in 2009• Draft Core Strategy put West Way forward for
comprehensive retail development (2011/2)• Core Strategy expected to be complete in
2013
Core Strategy Preferred option:
“West Way shopping centre and Elms Parade could be identified as a site for comprehensive redevelopment to include a large supermarket, shops, offices and other town centre uses.”
