Van- MohatshavTripura state is basically a hilly state. Sixty percent of its total land areas are covered with forest. However, the reckless cutting of trees and unscientific cultivation of Jhums has casted a remarkable impact on forest land. To contribute in the forestation of the state, West Tripura District Police is observing Van- Mohatshav every year in the entire district planting thousands of saplings in the District Head Quarters as well as in all the territorial jurisdiction of the Police Stations.
