1. Sign-in to your faculty LiveText account from the main page. (www.livetext.com)

2. Upon signing in, you should see your courses on your dashboard.

3. From here, click on the blue “Assess” link for the course assignment in which you want to evaluate submissions.

4. Now, you should see three columns that show WHO has submitted the assignment. In the left, red column, are those students who have not submitted anything. In the middle, yellow column, are the student submissions you need to evaluate. In the right, green column, will be the students whose submissions have been evaluated and rubric submitted.

5. Click on the student’s name whose submission you want to assess.

6. This will bring you to the assessment page. You can see the student’s submission (which is a link you can click to open the student’s document). You can also see on the right side of the page a place for Grade, Comment, etc.

7. Scroll down to see the attached rubric you need to fill out.

8. Click the Expand Rubrics button to make it easier for you to fill this out.

9. Clicking this button will open the Rubric in a separate window (you may have to turn off or allow pop-ups for this to happen).

10. Once you expand the rubric, you will be able to see the assessment categories and descriptions of the grading levels for each category.

11. Then, click on the grade/level (1-4) you wish to give that student and it will turn blue to indicate you have chosen it.

12. If you wish to add extra comments, then you can click the little talk bubble in the assessment category box. A long text box under that particular category will show up and you just have to click in the box to type your comment.

13. Once you are finished or done with this rubric assessment, click the green Save & Close button in the top right corner.

14. This should bring you back to the student’s assessment page. a. If you are not done, then you MUST click the Save button at the top

right of the page before closing the window or signing out. b. If you are done, then you can click the green Submit Assessment

button. **NOTE: Once, you click this button you CANNOT make any other changes or corrections to the assessment rubric.

15. Once you click Save or Submit Assessment, you will be brought back to the Main Assignment page that shows the list of students and submissions. If you submitted the assessment, then that student’s name will be in the green column and you can continue with the next student in the yellow column.

16. Please, assess all submissions that have been submitted by students (All yellow students should be in the green column when you are done).

17. You can exit LiveText and come back at various times to fill out the rubrics. Be SURE that you click Save & Exit on the pop-up window AND Save on the Student’s Assignment window to save your work if you wish to come back. Once again, once you submit the assessment, you cannot make changes.
