Running Title: The Children of the Light

Canon Background – what is known so far: Master Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to Tatooine to

protect the son of Anakin Skywalker turned Darth Vader, and Padme Amidala, Luke Skywalker. During

that time, Obi-Wan Kenobi must find solace in his deeds, and reach out to his former Master, Qui-Gong

Jinn in the Force. It is not easy to stop doing good deeds, but he does them anyway. He also protectsLuke from the forces of evil who would kill him or make him become a Sith.

Non Canon Background – what has happened so far: Obi-Wan meets Bo-Katan, a Mandalorian, for the

second time. They retrieve a brand new Separatist warship in a ship graveyard for the Mandalorians to

defend themselves against the Empire. Once out of hyperspace, the ship is met with 3 Star Destroyers

firing at them. Their ship destroys 2 Star Destroyers with its powerful ion cannon. The TIE fighters defeat

the droid starfighters easily. Obi-Wan must fly to destroy each TIE fighter, and then he draws them off

so that the warship can jump to another Mandalorian planet.

Conflict: Desires vs Sacrifice

Plot: Obi-Wan’s mission is to protect Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. Bo-Katan’s mission is to keep the

Mandalorians free of the Empire, which means procuring fire-power needed to defeat the Empire at all

costs. She already has retrieved a warship with the help of Obi-Wan, but that came at a cost – her

personal freedom. A few months after seeing Obi-Wan, she finds herself pregnant. Mandalorian Warrior

Code does not forbid women from fighting but at some point, they must stop warring. The issue is she

has to tell people. How will she explain this to them?

Meanwhile Obi-Wan has painful nightmares about the ghost of the unburied left at the Jedi Temple. If

left unburied, the Dark Side can harness their power forcing them to do evil. If he goes to Coruscant and

lays them to rest, they can use the Light Side of the Force as one and defeat Palpatine and Vader. Butthe likelihood of failure is high and the lives of Luke and Leia Skywalker, as well as his own child could be

exposed. Obi-Wan must enchant a powerful object (crystal) to contain the wandering souls and give

them to Yoda, until the Jedi can return. He must do this with the help of Bo-Katan, Fives and former

captain, Pharl McQuarrie, without the Dark Side users discovering them.

Timeline: After formation of the Galactic Empire and before the Galactic Civil War

Scene 1: On a ship, Bo-Katan adds a drop on her small droid that replies what is going on with her. She

sits despondent and this is hailed to forward command. She is bitchy and clumsy. Fives pulls her to the

side and asks her what’s going on. She reveals she is 16 weeks pregnant. Fives starts asking questions

like her father and ready to kill the guy who did that. And he orders the ship to go to Tatooine to seeObi-Wan.

What must happen in this scene:

1. Bo-Katan is alone in her discomfort which scares her and she learns her entire life will

change with the droid’s announcement.

2. Fives sees himself more and more like a brother, closer to her than Boba Fett who is nearly

her true blood. He is also becoming more like a leader than just a soldier.

3. Fives orders the ship to Tatooine with a scowl on his face

Scene 2. The Mandalorians land in Mos Eisley and fly out with batulars to Obi-Wan’s flat in the edge of the Jundland Wastes. When they reach there, Obi-Wan while delighted is also fearful others may see

them meeting. Fives curses him out without explanation; Bo-Katan is curt with Fives and defuse the

situation. Obi-Wan, very calm watches Fives behavior in that he won’t kill him like Order 66. But he does

not sense that. Bo gives a very serious look at Obi-Wan in which he reads her mind and say calmly how

far along is she and is very happy. Bo brings up about Obi-Wan’s ward, Luke and that she must meet him

to see and reluctantly Obi-Wan agrees. All of them go over to the Lars Homestead and are greeted by

the Lars who wants nothing of Obi-Wan. Then Beru carries a baby Luke and it’s Fives that says, he looks

just like Anakin. Luke reaches out to Bo who is scared to hold a baby and Luke just hugs her by laying his

head.

That night, they rest and Obi has a nightmare. Tells Bo he must bury the dead at the Temple. If not the

Dark Side will grow and power and could kill Luke, another ward and their daughter. Bo gets worried

and asks can they stop it and Obi said he doesn’t know. He stands up as a small ship lands nearby. Fives

follows him arms. That is when a small figure emerges named Pharl McQuarrie. He calls to Obi-Wan who

asks him how he found him, Organa sent him and told him what’s going on with the Empire. Obi-Wan

determines Pharl is from Ralltiir and he looks at Bo and tells her to go there to have their child. The

Empire won’t find them there.

What must happen in this scene:

1. Fives is very angry with Obi-Wan because he finds him as a hypocritical Jedi (Pong Krell, Vos,

Kota, Kento Marek)

2. Bo has to tell Obi-Wan out of respect, but she is seriously considering abortion. She feels she

can’t be a mother now. Obi-Wan convinces her otherwise.

3. Bo demands to see Luke to predict how their child’s life will be, very reluctantly they go. Lars

is disgusted. He’s anti-off-worlder these days. But Luke takes to Bo in an odd way.

4. Introduction of Pharl who can help them, get them to Coruscant safely under the radar

Scene 3: They get to the Jedi Temple unnoticed. Obi-Wan can sense the pain throughout the building.

They go deep into the bowels near of the vaults and obtain a crystal (the same crystal Luke will use to

build his lightsaber in Return of the Jedi). Obi-Wan knows that if he captured these souls in the crystal it

will be imbued with the Light Side of the Force and the owner of this crystal will wield the Force powers

for its purpose that the Dark Side cannot defend – a Wall of Light

1. Obi-Wan is a bit unnerved in the Jedi Temple.

2. Bo-Katan has odd feelings, but Fives remembers what his brothers did to the Temple

3. The magic of beautifulness of Jedi Wizardry – needs to be elaborate while Obi-Wan is

unnerved

4. Obi-Wan feels much more reassured that the Jedi will be back.

Scene 4: As they emerge Pharl’s ship is not there, like “Aliens” and Obi-Wan collapses the building so

that no one can gain access. Then several local security surrounds the building and tells them, keep your

hands up. Bo and Fives goes into firing mode, as Obi-Wan lights his blade knocking down the

probedroids, with the security forces. Both Bo, Fives jump off the sector leaps to go to the Subsectorsusing their jetpacks. Obi-Wan runs into a large drainage to get to where they go and takes a repulsorlift.

He comms Pharl and discovers he had to abandon his ship (Indiana Jones style). Obi-Wan gets to the

subsectors looking for Bo and Fives. Then Obi-Wan runs into…none other than…Ahsoka. Meanwhile

Fives drags Bo to Eden’s place to keep her under protection.

A switch: In the Emperor’s office, an Inquisitor approaches and bows. The Emperor says there is a

disturbance in the Force. Vader has failed me for the last time. Obi-Wan is still alive, as well as his

daughter by the Mandalorian woman… The Inquisitor replies, if we could turn his daughter, we will have

succeeded. The Emperor agrees.

1. Climbing out of the Jedi Temple is when Obi-Wan thinks they were watch. Bo and Fives

already say they are.

2. When they see the security, they fire and dodge. The droids follow, but can’t keep up. Obi-

Wan takes a different direction because someone has to be successful.

3. Obi-Wan sees his success in Ahsoka who is with Pharl and they escape. Fives keeps Bo safe

with Eden and seeks passage to Ralltiir.

4. A switch can occur somehow through some kind of new page.
