Vision & MissionTIPNG envisions a country where government, politics and businesses operate and citizens live in a constitutional democracy, are subject to good governance and are free from corruption. We work to inform, educate and encourage people in Papua New Guinea to take action against corruption regardless of who they are or where they are from, to make an active choice against corruption.

Over the years, TIPNG has grown to be a confident organization; TIPNG has established solid partnerships and a strong network. We are a peak body that pulls together other civil society organizations, a respected commentator and an avenue for those eager to create change in society.

Our CampaignTIPNG’s defines corruption as the abuse of entrusted power for personal gain. Over time, our experience in fighting corruption has led us to have a deeper understanding of corrupt systems and the many ways that entrusted power is abused in our societies.

We have learnt that corruption is more than just money changing hands, corruption can range from

the demand for sexual favour to the offer on an advertised job to a family member.

Corruption impacts societies in a multitude of ways. In the worst cases, it costs lives.

Our approachA key element in TIPNG’s approach is mobilising civil society to promote transparency and empower citizens to be courageous in standing up against corruption.

We do not indulge in politics but raise awareness on corruption and seek solutions that really work. From our experience corruption can only be kept in check if representatives from government, business and civil society work together to develop standards and procedures they all support. We believe our non-confrontational approach is necessary to get all relevant parties around the negotiation table.

Our workTIPNG is a non-government organization committed to helping people understand what corruption is and what they can do about it. Our work is focused on working with people & partners, developing a strong movement of integrity champions and promoting justice.

What do we do?• We operate a corruption complaints desk that

provides FREE legal assistance to witnesses and victims of corruption. (TIPNG does not investigate or prosecute corruption complaints).

• We provide regular media commentary about corruption issues.

• We provide teaching materials for the education systems on good governance and corruption issues through our School Based Civic Education Project.

• We train youth leaders in governance issues through our annual Mike Manning Youth Democracy Camp.

• We support and work with our many partners such as the Youth Against Corruption Association, churches, government agencies and businesses.

• We campaign for freedom of information and protection for whistle blowers.
