Enforcement

LANCASTER CITY COUNCIL HAS A TEAM OF ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS that can take legal action if you do not use your wheeled bins and recycling boxes correctly. This could result in you being issued with a fi ne.

Follow these easy steps to avoid a fi ne...■ Take your wheeled bins and recycling boxes back onto your property as soon as possible after collection.

■ Separate recyclable materials into your recycling boxes.

■ Your bin lid should be closed and no extra waste (including black bags) presented.

Shoes can be recycled at many recycling sites across the district.

If you have more than one grey wheeled bin and fi nd you no longer need the additional bin, please call customer services on 01524 582491 to arrange for its removal.

PLEASE PLACE TEXTILES IN CLEARLY LABELLED CARRIER BAGS (NOT BLACK BAGS) ALONGSIDE YOUR RECYCLING BOXES.

Textiles are graded into categories. Any reusable clothing is distributed to charities through a contractor and any unusable textiles are shredded to be used as industrial rags.
