What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

Could you have completed your project without using any technology?During the making of my music magazine I had to use

various different hardware and software appliances some of which I had used before and some of which were new to me. The technology that I used was vital for my project. I don't think it would have been possible to make the magazine without using some technology as technology is everywhere now and plays a big part in life. Some of the different programs that I used were: Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint, Blackboard, Survey Monkey and Slideshare. I gained the new knowledge of using these various programs that will be useful to me in the future.

What pieces of technology could you have done without?I think most of the technology I used was vital and I wouldn't have been able to make a music magazine but a few things such as Microsoft word could have been replaced. I could have written things out on paper and then scanned it onto the computer but this wouldn’t have looked as professional as using word. I could also have drawn up my flat plans and final draft’s instead of using Microsoft publisher and Photoshop but this wouldn’t have looked as good as my magazine does now. It would have been possible to do my magazine without using my phone as I used it to update my blog and then conduct my interview so I could have just used a computer instead.

Which piece of technology couldn’t you do without?I couldn't have done without a computer or camera as their isn't a replacement for these two. A camera is vital for me taking pictures and making them look at such a high quality and meet the standard of my magazine. Without a computer I don't feel I would have been able to make my magazine as I had to use a computer in every stage of production. I wouldn’t have been able to take the photos off of the camera without a computer. It also enabled be to conduct my research quicker than I could have done it without a computer. With the camera I was able to access my work from anywhere I wanted too.

Positives and negatives of using technologyThe positives of using technology were that I could easily make a professional looking magazine without much trouble and I was able to learn the required skills quite easily. The negatives of using technology were that sometimes the technology failed such as my memory stick not saving things, this wouldn’t have happened if I’d have drawn out my pages instead of using Photoshop.
