• Things I considered when writing out questions-• When writing out the questions for the questionnaire/survey

and focus group I had to take into account audience theories examples are Stuart Hall’s Reception theory, demographics and Uses & Gratification theory. By doing this it allowed me to really hone in how to centre the work around meeting our target audience needs, who the target audience actually are and what they want to see.

• When have I used audience feedback?• I used audience feedback for the first time using a survey monkey

questionnaire I used this in an attempt to gather information on what people would like to see from our production. From this I got an idea of what kind of story people wanted to see and the setting they thought it should be in.• After this we got together a focus group of keen horror fans from the

target audience we were looking at. As a result of this focus group we were able to really define how we were going to go about setting out the ancillaries and what props we could use in the trailer.• After drafting the ancillaries I asked for feedback from my peers as they

fit into our target audience bracket. They suggested that the basis for both was really good however, they suggested that I should add things that were more conventional to each task such as the billing block on the poster and things such as plugs on the magazine.

There is a question of whether or not women would have the same responses to questions as men. Unfortunately in our survey we do not know who was a female and who was a male but generally we had similar responses. The video above this presentation shows a male from our target audience and what he would like to see. I also asked a female member from our target audience, however she wasn’t confident enough to be on camera so I noted down in brief her answers. Surprisingly although Sophie isn’t as well informed on the horror genre as Daniel she does watch them and after showing her ancillary examples she suggested that we should leave them as she thought they were good. Whilst with the trailer she also noted that she “didn’t think there was supposed to be actors names and directors names in the trailer”. As this has been picked up on numerous occasions I contacted our group and suggested that we get rid of the text .
