TRAVELOGUEAs you reach the outskirts of Balastone various towers shine as if the light flows like water down and through each building. Below you can see a river of light flowing round each stone. The buildings are curved so softly and smoothly it’s as if they were hand carved. A variety of shapes create each building, unusually each building has shapes missing as if there has been a large part of the building has been carved out. This creates holes increasingly to the top half of the horizon line of the city. This stops any force of wind disrupting the balance. With its smooth shinny finish tourists are mesmerised. The whole feel to the city is modern yet very calm. There is no wind or breeze which creates humid air. Wondering around the smaller parts outside the edge of the city each home is a small rounded building which are all nearly identical. Each one has a slight roof attached to the rounded buildings with two straight supports. With two globes of lights on either side you can see the hominess of each house. The layout of the homes can give you a deja vu feeling. With a grass lawn, circular stone pathways and small post boxes. Entering further it becomes clear each building, structure and objects are balanced so precisely you become aware of how much movement you make with every step, in fear of causing any destruction. Above you can see a river of wires entwining into building, around buildings and above. Small circular pods slowly move along the wires as a form of transport. Moving so slowly not to cause a large amount of movement or wind, not wanting to disturb the balance or quiet.  In contrast to the outside of the city as you move closer to the heart of the city you can see the blocks of homes. Each one has three main shapes balancing together which makes you wonder how people can move round inside at ease. These buildings tower over the small homes but cause no interruption in the view of the heart of the city. Each one is made from a dark marble each on a different colour or shad of grey, brown, green and beige.

Just by looking at these two styles of buildings you can see the clear separation in classes. The lower class being the smaller home which is clear to see by the size but their filled with light and people. The higher class are clearly stated within the tower building from their momentous size. Through the large windows you can see the luxurious kitchens with smooth surfaces and large house hold appliances. The marble has a glow from the street lights.

Right at the heart of the city is a large memorable station which holds the main way to travel. The station itself is very rounded with a smooth surface but has small parts of a celling. On the inside you can see a great loading centre in which there is many different lanes holding five pods a time. One side is where people enter the pods and the other to exit. All around is many tunnels leading to the other lanes. Some go above the pods, some go under. Each tunnel is lit by small circular globe lights built into the walls as well as the ceilings. Many signs written in lights above each tunnel entrance. Looking up toward the ceiling you can see large thick continuous wires through the large gaps which are holding circular pods. Every pod has two stories holding ten people in each floor. With every pod being the same they are made from soon stone with large clear windows. The windows are so large that from a distance you feel that the pods are made entirely from glass, questioning the safety of using them. From entering the station you can see the lower class citizens run down and tired from the manual labour. Such a maintaining the pod machinery, cleaning and the upkeep around the enter city, working the electric wires and electricity to maintain the well-lit areas throughout the whole day. The higher class have a formal suit, tie style for the large corporations they run. There is a large line of connection running through the city towards others for buying and selling good. They look at the lower class as beneath them without a second glance as the stroll past, in no hurry but always busy the uphold power. Deeper into the city you can see large simple structures scattered around to arrange the maze of wires. Each structure is different but holds the same style, being tall, slim but curved. These are clearly seen as they stand out from the other building being such a different shape compared to the rest of the city. The wires spread into different directions after exiting the structures after going through or around the main points. The structures act as a filter, sorting a mess of wires and pods into a steam of flowing pods.

At night the city has a much lit glow from the amount of light given from each building through the large windows and holes. Also the street lamp have a cone form balancing a large globe of light which shine boldly in every direction. The heart of the city comes to a halt past seven o’clock, the end of the work day, which gives the outer circles life. You can see the glow shine brighter from the outskirts as each worker returns home but there’s a slight coldness given from the large towers as the work continues home. From a high up view of the city you can see clearly the different levels getting higher towards the middle created by the buildings. With a circular shape it gives a dome form which glows during the night. After leaving Balastone you feel as if you can move freely without causing any harm but fear how long it will be before the whole city comes tumbling down as dominos.
