What Do We Mean By “Accessible Format”?
The delivery of information in ways that individuals with
disabilities are able to understand and utilize.
It Must Be Effective.
Common Types of Accessible Formats
• Large Print - minimum of 18 pt. Font size
• Braille• Audio Cassette• Electronic (computerized)• Video Tape• Reader• Scribe
Large Print
• Purchase from vendor
• Enlarge font size on computer and print
• Enlarge on copy machineLarge PrintHelps me read this sentence.It makes itaccessible!
Braille
• Purchase from vendor
• Translation software
• Braille embosser
• Braille printer
Might also need a scribe to fill out forms.
