What is Force

Page 2: What is force

• Force is a push or pull.

• Newton is the unit that describes the magnitude of a force.

• When the forces on an object are balanced the object doesn’t move.

What is force?

Page 3: What is force

Net force is two objects that have negative or positive energy being pulled or pushed.

One way that forces can combine is like two forces going the same direction.

Another way would be if two forces are pulling, being pulled, or going the opposite direction.

How do forces combine

Page 4: What is force

Objects that are balanced are static, so they stay in position.

Tension is a force that acts on an object when it is pulled or stretched.

Compression is a force that when exerted on matter, the matter is pushed or squeezed.

What happens to forces?

Too much compression!

Page 5: What is force

Unbalanced forces causes a change in the velocity of an object, which may be a change in speed, direction, or both.

An example is like if a moving object is moving and you push it , due to the fact that it is unbalanced it will go to another direction.

What happens to an object that doesn’t balance due to force?

oThe first type of a moving object is moving objects.

oThe second kind of moving objects is nonmoving objects.

oThe third kind and last is direction of movement.
