Beginning THIS Sunday morning, students will becollecting money at the end of all three services topromote our Stop Hunger Now Packaging Event, to beheld, Wednesday, November 19th, at 6:00 p.m. in the11th Street Gym. The cost of packaging 10,000 meals,to be sent to third world countries and places in need ofemergency food, is $2,500. The packaging event isnot only an outreach mission for others, but it is also anopportunity for our church family to come together infellowship and fun! If you have never participated inthis event, make plans now to do so!

THE HAPPENING Former Heppner's always get a little nervous when you talk about the Happening. It's notthat there are any secrets or things that must be kept from the uninitiated, but that no onewho has experienced the weekend wants to ruin the surprise for those who have yet to gothrough it. Simply put, the Happening has potential to change lives. Setting a weekendapart to be with God and several dozen others who are seeking His face in an intimateway, gives one a chance to assess what is really important in their lives.

The Happening is sponsored by United Methodist in the Mississippi Conference and is forstudents in grades 10th - 12th. The cost is $65 and students register independently on theHappening website www.mshappening.net. After the form is downloaded and completed,students then mail it to the address provided on the form. Registration closes two weeksbefore each Happening. The next Happening is November 21st - 23rd. Central is lookingfor a house mother/hostess for this event. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

LITURGICAL DANCELiturgical Dance Practice with Mrs. Caroline begins Sunday, November 2nd at4:15 p.m. in the gym. This is open to girls Kindergarten and up. Girls willperform both in worship and for the Christmas Program during theAdvent/Christmas Season. It is that time of year again where our students wrap and package shoeboxes to be sent to children around the world who otherwise would notreceive gifts during the holiday season. While we all acknowledge that theseason is NOT about gifts, this mission event allows both OUR childrento experience the opportunity to GIVE and hopefully the recipients of theshoe boxes understand that there are people far away who care for them! Beginning this Sunday there will be a drop off in the Crossing for bothShoe boxes and small toys, dolls, and stuffed animals, wrapped hardcandy, socks, t-shirts, caps, crayons...anything that is NOT liquid or warrelated (guns, tanks, army men, etc...) This week as you are shopping,

please pick up a few items to help us in our mission!

ANOTHER CENTRAL RAMP BUILDOn the beautiful autumn morning of Saturday, October 18 , volunteers from Central, withth

the help of friends, constructed a ramp for Mr. Billy Joe Townsend. Representing Centralwere Jim Copeland, Tom Johnson, David Labutka, Blair Mitcham, Ben Rucks, LoganRucks, Mark Scarborough, Lisa Young, and James Whitley. They were assisted byCharles Blake (Chunky UMC), Jerry Fox (Hopewell UMC, Kemper Co.), Sam Gressett(PSD Baptist Church), and Charlie Smith (Christ Covenant Church, Hernando). A goodtime was had by all.

One of the best resources Ihave found is called Sacred Space. It is onthe internet and offers a daily prayer guidethat is available 24 hours a day and isrenewed for each day. The daily prayeroffers a 6 step process: Presence,Freedom, Consciousness, The Word ofGod, Conversation, and Conclusion. Eachstep includes an optional guide, and thereis an available inspiration for the scripturelesson.
