What is Mean by the Fall of Man?As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." -Romans 3:10-12 Topic: What is meant by The Fall of man? Point 1: What was man like before the Fall? Point 2: What happened to man during The Fall? Point 3: What is man like now? Point 1: Before The Fall, mankind was perfect in every way, we're given God's characteristics, such as having free will, a moral and spiritual sense, self-consciousness, capacity for intelligent reasoning, and much more. Mankind was eve closer to God than we are now. He even allowed man to rule over the animals, and give them the names they have now. But all this changed when we start to talk about: Point 2: The Fall came about by mankind's freedom of choice, greed, rebellion, and ultimately a lack of trust. Satan made it appear as if mankind could reach the level of God, just by eating the fruit that God had told them not to eat. And now for the future affects of The Fall in: Point 3: Now that the damage is done, total depravity(Which means Sin affects our whole life) lingers in our everyday life. The way man is now is, a cracked image, being enslaved in sin, and at times wanting to be against God. I found the following from the ESV study Bible: There are at least six ways this pervasive inability affects everyone. Until God intervenes wit His sovereign, gracious, saving power, mankind is totally unable to: -Repent or trust Christ "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. -John 6:44 -See or enter the kingdom of God "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.-John 3:3 -Obey God and thereby glorify Him The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.-Romans 8:6-8 -Attain spiritual understanding The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are

spiritually discerned.-1 Corinthians 2:14 -Live lives pleasing to God But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.-Romans 14:23 -Receive eternal or spiritual life As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.-Ephesians 2:1-3 Of course, as we know God has giving us a gift of grace to escape all this, but that a discussion for another time.
