Enrolling at CCSF may be your first step on a new career path, part of your plan to remain ahead of changing demands in your work place or it may fulfill your lifelong learning objective for lasting and rewarding employment. We look forward to helping you to achieve your career goals. Unsure about which career path is right for you? Take the CareerMatch survey at www.ccsf.edu/careermatch to see how your interests match with Career and Technical Education (CTE)programs offered at CCSF.

How to Use the Guide The CTE Guide will help you to understand how to enroll in over 200 CTE programs available at CCSF. Here are some terms you will see:

Program – CCSF CTE programs consist of courses designed to prepare students for employment in a specific career field. Programs are listed by category in alphabetical order.

Program Completion Awards – When all the courses in a program have been completed, students earn an associate degree, a credit certificate or a noncredit certificate. Certificate programs are usually 12 to 30 units, while Associate degree programs require 60 or more units of coursework, including general education classes.

Credit/Noncredit – Many CTE programs offer college credit that can be applied to a college degree. As of Spring 2017, credit courses cost $46 per unit for California residents and $211 + $46 per unit for non-residents, international students and students with temporary visas. Students can also earn certificates by enrolling in noncredit CTE programs. Noncredit courses are free, but students must pay for books, supplies and other materials as required.

Entry Requirements – Some programs use tests to make sure students have the skills required to successfully complete the course.

Program Length – CTE program lengths are based on full-time enrollment of at least 12 units per semester. Earning an Associate degree takes two or more years and certificate programs require less time depending on course availability.

Location – CCSF has locations throughout San Francisco. Codes used to identify the location are at the bottom of left side pages.

Financial Aid – Available to eligible students who are enrolled in eligible Title IV programs.

Phone – For further questions, contact information on specific programs is listed.

CCSF provides many services to support your success, such as career advising, academic counseling and tutoring, which are listed in the back of this guide.

3. Attend a New Student Orientation For dates and times, see orientation schedule: www.ccsf.edu/FCS/attend_a_new_studentorientation.html
