WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA

PRODUCT AND WHY?

WALT DISNEY PICTURES

When choosing who to publish/distribute our film we looked into more than just warner, institutions such as “Walt Disney Pictures” who published “Pirates of the Caribbean”, whilst we thought they were a great institution that may publish an action/adventure film we decided that Walt Disney would not publish a film of our style, inspired by “The Goonies” and “Indiana Jones” because of the rating/action behind it.

PARAMOUNT STUDIO’SParamount were another studio institution we looked into, they published films such as “Indiana Jones”, “Tomb Raider” and “Sahara”. All these action/adventure films, whilst serving as inspiration behind our film, again were not something that directly related to our film and that we felt was a company that published more dark and less appeal towards our young age demographic.

WARNER BRO’S

We chose warner bros as the main media institution that would distribute our media product. Warner Bros publishes films of an action/adventure genre which tend to be family friendly or appeal to teenagers. Films such as “The Goonies”, which was a main inspiration behind our film appeal to this demographic so we decided to use this distributer/publisher for our end product. Warner Bro’s published other films like “Romancing the Stone” and recently “The Hobbit” these films are all of an action adventure genre and are all films that have had certain inspirations in our film, whether through the titles or aspects of mise en scene/sound.

SOUNDTRACK

We also chose to release the soundtrack we used as a Spotify exclusive published by Warner Bro’s The artist TeknoAXE will be releasing our soundtrack through Warner first available on Spotify, synergising the work to be made available to the audience
