BEGINNING

- The story begins with the persona, Mrs. Young tells about her meeting with Justin, a student in the school.

- Even they’ve just met, Justin has behaved impolitely towards the author. For example, he put his

muddy feet up on the table. Plus, when Mrs. Young asked him to do

the assignment, he said that he has no pen.

- Despite Justin treated her badly, she tried to let him know that she wasn’t the enemy. Unfortunately, Justin had already decided to hate

her.

DEVELOPMENT

- After 18 weeks together, Justin had taught Mrs. Young many new lessons.

- she had struggled to help Justin improve his writing skills.

- Justin struggled to mange his anger. The other student learned to avoid

him and no one wants to seat beside him.

- Usually, Justin will destroy an inanimate object like chair or

computer to express his anger.

CONFLICT

- Mrs. Young was seated at a work table conferencing quietly with two

students when suddenly she saw Justin kicked the computer table.

- Justin became angry and flung the contents of the table in Mrs.

Young’s direction. Justin kept kicking the tower of the computer and then stormed from the room

crying.

- Mrs. Young then called the dean’s office to let them know that Justin

was loose.

CLIMAX

- After class, Mrs. Young was looking for Justin.

- suddenly, Mrs. Young heard a strange scratching sound coming from the carpentry class next door. So, she

quietly open the door.

- There was Justin, furiously sanding away at the leg of a table. It was then Mrs. Young noticed the table and its design. She was amazed. It was a

gorgeous piece of furniture.

- she felt regret for underestimating Justin before as he couldn’t write

complete sentence. She was learned that Justin had a special gift.

ENDING

-Mrs. Young didn’t know where Justin is today. She often think of him and sometimes imagine him as

an apprentice in a cabinetry or furniture shop.

- Justin had taught her not to judge people too quickly and she hoped

that the patience that she had showed him gave an example of an

alternative way of being.

•We should never judge a person before knowing him/her

first.

- Before knowing Justin, Mrs. Young tend to assume him as a handicap person as he couldn’t write the complete sentence. But when she witnessed Justin was carving a table, she could see that he was gifted with a

wonderful talent.

her students, Justin. As a teacher, she tried to get close with him to get to know him better. But Justin has showed no

- Justin is a problematic and hot-tempered boy whereby

Mrs. Young had a problem to approach him. But she tried patiently to console him used many ways but he still set a

gap between them by behaving rudely towards Mrs. Young.

- Mrs. Young learnt that even a “problematic” boy can give

something that we could take a lesson from. Even Justin was

always assumed as a freak, Mrs. Young believed that he still has

something precious to share with others.
