OEE vs. UPTIME

OEE is calculated by multiplying the three OEE factors: Availability, Performance, and Quality (OEE.com)

OEE measures whether machines are running (in-cycle)

… but doesn’t differentiate between non-cutting-time and in-cut-time.

Reduction of non-cutting time (ie: setups, tool changes, rapid traverse movements, pallet indexes, program dwells, program stops etc.)

Taking full advantage of machine and tooling capabilities to optimize in-cut time by maximizing cutting data like depth of cut, cutting speed, feed rate, etc.
