Choose your colour theme and bake your cupcakes in a variety of coloured cases that will match the sugarpaste colours you are using. Fill with your favourite cake mix, bake and leave to cool before filling and decorating. We used a delicious, natural vanilla gluten free cupcake mix by Phil Vickery which comes in two pack sizes, for 12 and 36 cupcakes. Step 1 Sprinkle your work surface with a dusting of icing sugar and roll out coloured sugarpaste. Create a Gucci themed quilt effect on your cupcakes using the set of 2 Gucci embossers by pressing the embossers into the paste to reveal the design. Use circle cutters to cut out the tops of the cupcakes. Step 2 Cut out smaller round plaques and while the sugarpaste is still soft, emboss designer icons into the icing. Leave to dry then brush over with a metallic gold powder. Attach the plaques to the cupcakes with edible glue and build up your designs in different colours. Some of the embossers come with cutters which can be used to add extra decorations to the cupcakes. Step 3 Handbag toppers are easy to make if you use a flexible mould. Dust the mould with cornflour and push a ball of sugarpaste (about the same size as the mould) firmly into it. Cut away any excess with a flat palette knife then turn it over and bend the sides back so that the handbag pops out onto your work top. For a 3D handbag, make two halves, stick together with edible glue and leave to dry before painting.

DesignerHandbag Cupcakes

If you’re making a cake or cupcakes for someone who loves their designer perfume and handbags, you can now re-create the iconic LV, Dior, Gucci and Chanel patterns in icing with a range of new embossers.

Step 1

Sprinkle your work surface with a dusting of icing sugar and roll out coloured sugarpaste. Create a Gucci themed quilt effect on your cupcakes using the set of 2 Gucci embossers by pressing the embossers into the paste to reveal the design. Use circle cutters to cut out the tops of the cupcakes.

Step 2

Cut out smaller round plaques and while the sugarpaste is still soft, emboss designer icons into the icing. Leave to dry then brush over with a metallic gold powder. Attach the plaques to the cupcakes with edible glue and build up your designs in different colours. Some of the embossers come with cutters which can be used to add extra decorations to the cupcakes.

Step 3

Handbag toppers are easy to make if you use a flexible mould.

Step 4

To paint small gold areas, mix a few drops of rejuvenator spirit into the metallic gold powder to create a thick paint and use a fine brush.

Step 5

If you want to add chunky lettering to your cupcakes, use the easy push, upper case alphabet cutters. To use, simply roll out some sugarpaste, cut out the letter then press the plunger down to release it onto your work surface. If you wish to add a pattern, emboss the icing before cutting out the letters and if you want them to stand up, then leave them to dry overnight before attaching to the cupcakes.
