Pagan Pride Day Wrap-up

Hearth’s Home participated in Philly’s Pagan Pride Day on Labor Day weekend. Turnout was great, despite a few protesters and slightly wet weather! In addition to a wide variety of tables with groups and merchandise, several free rituals were presented. Next ritual: Samhain

Our Samhain celebration takes place on Saturday, October 28. at the Meeting House. RSVP here

“Samhain” is actually Gaelic for “November,” and the festival is traditionally celebrated on November 1. Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark half of the year.

Considered to be the pagan new year, Samhain is also the time when the veil between the world of the seen, and the unseen, is at its thinnest. This, therefore, is the time of year when you can more easily make contact with your ancestors, and others who have already gone on to the Summerlands.

RITUAL GARB IDEAS: Basic black! Or, something in an earthy color. Ornamentation can be anything that honors the dead, or your ancestors: so if you have a lovely skull necklace, now is the time to bring it out!

FEAST FOOD IDEAS: something from pumpkin or squash, or if you prefer sweets, you can make sugar skulls to share with the group.

Hearth’s Home Open Pagan Community Welcomes All!
