COMMITTEE FOCUS IN 2015: Global Resources: Market Reports Marketing: EXPO Growth Membership: New Outreach/Engagement Regulatory: California Technical: Certificate Program GET INVOLVED! HELP SOLVE INDUSTRY CHALLENGES AND GROW THE INDUSTRY
Critical ASC GR Issues in 2015
• TSCA Reform Legislation
• CA Safer Consumer Product Rule Development
• CA OEEHA Prop 65 Label Revision Proposal
• OSHA Implementation of GHS Deadlines
• EPA MDI-TDI Chemical Action Plan
• USGBC Implementation of LEED v.4
• CA South Coast AQMD Rule 1168 Revision
Health Canada Implementation of GHS Rules • June 2014 --ASC raised concerns with Health Canada (HC) that
lack of transition time between current WHMIS requirements and new GHS rules would negatively impact US companies importing into Canada.
• August 2014--Health Canada published proposed Hazardous Products Regulation (HPR) in Canada Gazette Part I
• January 2015 --ASC held further discussion with HC and learned they are continuing finalize HPR and it should be published in Canada Gazette part II in near future. According to HC Director, Dan Wolfish, final HPR should generally allow US companies to immediately rely on GHS labeling requirements when shipping their products into Canada.
