Southbend introduces New PlanchaThe Southbend Plancha Unit is a direct contact cooking surface which can also be used as a hot top. Across the Plancha plate there are several heat zones for diversified cooking. A high heat zone, max temperature of 800°F, is located toward the front which is great for a quick sear. industry Veteran ed Baker Assumes New Role

ed Baker announced earlier this year that he will be stepping aside as the Nieco President after holding the position for the last 40 years. Mr. Baker co-invented the broiler and grew Nieco into a well-known and respected brand in the industry.

Mr. Baker will remain active with the company focusing on sales, distribution, service and integration of new Middleby products, while Korey Kohl has been named the new President of Nieco. Mr. Kohl, who has been serving as Nieco Vice President and General Manager, will assume the day-to-day responsibilities of Nieco, as well as direct and manage all business operations.
