About Myron Mays!Myron Mays is a Writer & Media Personality who has been a part of the Mid-South media scene for well over 20 years. A native of Memphis, Myron began his broadcast career in 1994 at the age of 20.

In addition to broadcast media, Myron is also a skilled Writer & Blogger, serving as the entertainment columnist for Memphis’ only African American newspaper, “The New Tri-State Defender”. His weekly column “What’s Happening Myron” gives fans the opportunity to delve a little further into his psyche as he shares his perspective on entertainment and pop culture and keeps the public informed as to “what’s happening” around town.

His monthly relationship advice column “Hey Myron” can be found in Southern Soul Magazine. His “What’s Happening Report” newsletter reaches nearly 20,000 people per week.

When he is not on the “entertainment” side of the world, he can be found on the “business” side of it serving in his “Day Job” capacity of Vice-President & Director of Communications & Development for the Black Business Association of Memphis.

His company “What’s Happening Media” includes an entertainment blog, a book club, a newspaper column, a magazine column and a radio show.

About What’s Happening Media!“What’s Happening Media!” is a network of brands built around Memphis Writer & Radio Personality Myron Mays. It began in 2009 as a quarterly magazine called “What’s Happening Myron!” Serving as an additional vehicle for Myron to reach his radio audience. Today, the machine has grown to include radio, TV, internet as well as marketing services for other companies.

The Mission. The Vision!The Mission of What’s Happening Myron! Is to “entertain, inform & enlighten” the consumer as to “what’s happening” in and around Memphis and its surrounding areas.

The Vision of What’s Happening Myron! Is to become a portal to the inside of every major city in the country, serving as a resource when it comes to entertainment, events, leisure and lifestyles.

Who Follows the What’s Happening Man!The primary demographic of WHM is the African American female 25 to 55 years of age with the median age of 43. They are the head of their households, make all of the financial decisions and spend a large amount of their disposable income on entertainment, fashion and travel. They follow Myron through his various media outlets; radio, television, print, web and social media. They are employed within a professional capacity and have an average of 2 children. Many of them have a bachelor’s degree with a large portion having at least some college. The majority of this demo spends an average of two hours per day collectively on Facebook and gets most of their news and information from the web. Their music of choice is primarily the urban adult contemporary format.

We Read. We Meet. We Talk. We Eat…and MORE!Entering its 4th year, the What’s Happening Myron Book Club has grown to well over 200 members. Each month, members of the book club meet up to discuss the “featured selection” of the month and participate in other activities such as the “Hey Myron” relationship segment! The book selection typically reflects the demographic of the members which consist of the overall WHM demographic.

Although the selections are primarily national authors, the book club does spotlight a local author each month that attends and speaks to the group regarding their book and background.

Are You Ready to PLAY? Live from the Hard Rock Café in Downtown Memphis! It’s Game Show with Myron Mays!” This is a real “LIVE” game show where contestants compete for cash and fabulous prizes by competing in fun and engaging games.

From classic party games such as “Hoola Hoops” and “Musical Chairs” to original games like “Ball and Chain” and “Mindless Trivia”, Game Show is a fun night out with activities for everyone!

He’s On Your Radio Too…Since 2008, Myron Mays has dominated the Memphis airwaves with “The Myron Mays Radio Show”, delivering a mix of Soul Classics and Todays R&B, peppered with entertainment news and his own brand of hilarious commentary. Myron Mays keeps the City of Memphis Entertained, Informed & Enlightened!

www.WhatsHappeningMyron.comThe “What’s Happening Myron” Website debuted in 2009. It has attracted over 200,000 unique visitors and attracts an average of 1500 visitors per day. Visitors receive information and articles regarding Entertainment News, Health & Fitness, Love & Relationships, as well as Memphis Music & Attractions, Downtown Memphis information and local events.

It’s The What’s Happening Myron Report!The What’s Happening Myron Report is an E-Newsletter that reaches a database of nearly 20,000 people on a weekly basis. These individuals are based in the Memphis metro area. It is sent out each and every Friday afternoon. The newsletter primarily contains a listing of upcoming events that are taking place that particular weekend. Those events include concerts, trade shows, networking events as well as parties and club nights.
