Getting to Know Your Grapes: ZinfandelEAT By DennIs DeRaDo

Whenmostpeoplehear the word “Zin-fandel,” they likelyassociate it withthe pink-coloredwine that is fruityand sweet, knownas white Zinfandel.Whattheymightnotknow is that theZin-fandelgrapeisaredgrape that is also

will be pink in color. Fermentation is usuallystopped with much of the sugar unconvertedto alcohol, resulting in a sweet product. Themore “residual sugar,” (R.S.) the sweeter thewinewillbe.
