WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR AMWAY NEW PLATINUM CONFERENCE PROGRAM: Amway is pleased to be your host during your visit to Ada, Michigan. As our IBO guest, the cost of up to two airline tickets, one room for three nights, baggage handling, and Amway-sponsored events is included in your program. Transportation to and from Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is also provided (on trip arrival and departure dates only).

IRS FORM 1099: The U.S. Internal Revenue Service requires Amway to report payments to IBO guests for all nonbusiness-related items such as activities and amenities. This will be indicated in the Form 1099-MISC you receive annually from Amway.

As business owners, you understand that reporting the correct amount of income to the IRS is important. Every year, we make your Annual Income Summary available online. Examples of items that are included in the Annual Income Summary (at fair market value) include: • Bonus earnings • Gift cards/giveaways/raffles • Cash in lieu of trips/prizes • Trip amenities • Event tickets • Nonbusiness trips.

Most IBO businesses earning over $600 receive a Form 1099-MISC (similar to a W-2 form) from Amway Corp. in January of every year that reports your annual income to the IRS. Currently, 1099s are not sent to IBO businesses that are incorporated. We do, however, furnish earnings information to corporations on the Annual Income Summary.

AMWAY POLICY ON CHILDREN/GUESTS: We know that many of you involve your families in your business. We applaud you! Events are only for IBOs who have officially qualified to attend the event. Children cannot attend, even if accompanied by their parents. Therefore, children cannot be brought into the event functions unless buy-in opportunities exist and tickets are purchased. We appreciate your cooperation in compliance with this policy.

SCHEDULES, ETC.: Once you complete your registration for the Amway New Platinum Conference, you will receive additional information prior to arriving in Grand Rapids. Most Amway New Platinum Conference attendees will receive their airline reservations via an e-ticket.

WHAT TO WEAR: Attire for most of the activities such as the Business Meetings, Educational Sessions, and sales profitability breakouts is business casual; for the group activities, more casual apparel is acceptable. We recommend business or semiformal attire for the Recognition Celebration on the final evening.

TRAVEL INFORMATIONAmway Special Events will automatically book your flights upon completion of your online registration. You will not be contacted prior to flights being booked.

FLIGHT RESERVATIONS: Your flight reservations will be made by Amway Special Events after you register for Amway New Platinum Conference. If you prefer to book your own flights, please call Amway Special Events at 800-365-9276 prior to making any flight reservations. If you wish to book your own flight, you must indicate during online registration that you will either be contacting Amway Special Events for flight-booking assistance or that you have already booked your flights.

At that time, you will be provided with your airline ticket allowable amount and a Flight Exception Request Form for reimbursement. No reimbursement can be made without the submission and approval of this form.

Amway Special Events does not provide reimbursement for the use of miles from any frequent-flier program or for MileagePlus tickets.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS: Transfers to and from Gerald R. Ford International Airport will be provided on trip dates only. Amway Special Events staff will meet you in the baggage-claim area to assist you with transfers to the hotel.

DRIVING/MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT: If you drive to Grand Rapids, you’ll be reimbursed at the current IRS rate for miles driven on one vehicle, with the total not to exceed the cost of round-trip airfare. Reimbursement is based on the round-trip distance from your home address to Grand Rapids as determined by the most direct mileage route indicated on MapQuest (a leading online resource for maps, driving directions, and routes). You’ll receive your reimbursement in your monthly bonus approximately six to eight weeks after the event. When you arrive, be sure to fill out and sign the mileage reimbursement form at the Hospitality Desk. Please submit your form before the conclusion of the conference.

Additionally, if you drive to Grand Rapids, Amway will reimburse you for self-parking charges while staying at the Amway Grand Plaza hotel. Self-parking charges will be applied to your guest room incidental account. You will be reimbursed via your bonus after the program’s conclusion. Please note that only the amount equal to self-parking charges for three nights will be reimbursed.

LUGGAGE FEE REIMBURSEMENT: Amway will reimburse you for one checked bag each way of your Amway New Platinum trip for a maximum of $50 per attendee. You will receive this reimbursement in your bonus approximately six to eight weeks after the conclusion of the event. You do not need to submit a receipt. All other charges for additional luggage will be at your own expense. Check with your airline for specific charges.

CANCELLATIONS/NO-SHOWS: Amway Special Events will make every attempt to accommodate schedule changes. However, if you cancel your trip, you may be responsible for any fees incurred due to that cancellation should you choose to reschedule for a future conference. Amway will pay for only one Amway New Platinum Conference trip per qualified IBO per business (up to two IBOs per business). This policy applies to “no-shows” as well. Both IBOs must attend the same conference.
