    Whats new in Plimmerton?

    November 2013

Karehana Park springing into actionIts all go at the park now with Spring weather upon us. In the next few weeksfurniture will be installed at the Ptanquecourt end of the park, a picnic tableand benches and two seats. This will enable you to entertain family and friendsto an evening game on the court while seated in comfort enjoying the splendidlyplanted and maintained environs. Big thanks to the planters and gardeners whohave made it such a picture. Mint and thyme are growing in abundance and youare invited to pick what you need. Youll see a digger working in the park aspart of the water table testing programme and there is to be a fishing survey ofstream life. This will involve discussion with neighbours lest they be alarmed bynocturnal spotlight-wearing fish-spotters. Pavers are available again and theinstallation programme, dormant over winter, is about to start. If you haveagreed to sponsor a paver you will have had a personal reply and receipt fromour project team and should see your paver in place very soon. A snazzy sign forthe Ptanquecourt acknowledging the generous assistance of Tuohy Homes willsoon be installed. Great work from Allan Dodson, Roger Johnston and the hardworking Karehana Park team.

A close shave power lines and trees, dangerous comboWe are asked to remind all homeowners to keep trees topped and trimmed andwell clear of power lines. In recent storms overgrown trees were the cause ofpower lines coming down and that can be fatal. Some streets are at particularrisk from this and in a recent storm live lines were down for several hours itwas a miracle nobody was sizzled. Find an arboristhttp://www.plimmerton.org.nz/business-directory/landscaping-services/topgum-arborists Please keep your trees under control!
