Monday 23rd May - Sunday 5th June Only four weeks remain and with it, brings this penultimate W.O.W of the year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for an amazing year in my first year of office. First, to the core staff team at the SU who work so tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly for your enjoyment. Secondly, to the Student staff those that take their time out to work in the shop, front of house, bar and reception your hard work and commitment is a huge asset and very much appreciated. Thanks must also go to the amazing Executive Team who it has been a pleasure to work alongside this year. It has been a hectic year with many stressful times - and without their enthusiasm and efforts, the year would not have run nearly as smoothly as it has. Last week saw the results of the SU elections for who will be representing you next year. Huge congratulations to all the new incoming officers; It has been and will continue to be a privilege representing you next year and I know all those elected will enjoy and embrace the opportunity and have an amazing year. Plans for next year are already in full swing and events for Fresher’s fortnight can now be viewed online at our website. We will also soon be recruiting student volunteers to be part of our amazing ‘Fresher’s Crew’ & don the orange tops to help welcome the new incoming fresher’s. Keep an eye out as I’ll be releasing full information in the coming weeks! With it being the last few weeks of the term, end of year exams are also fast approaching and stress levels will undoubtedly rise. Stress has a direct effect on your mood and health levels and can therefore impact on you reaching your full potential. If you are feeling the pressure, then I can’t highlight enough how important it is to talk to someone about it. Talk to lecturers; Talk to Student Services; Talk to myself I might not be an expert but can give you words of advice and point you in the right direction to someone who is! Don’t suffer alone! I hope you all enjoy your last few weeks and take advantage of the amazing entertainment! Two amazing flirt! themes in Pirates and Toga are just an example of what’s on offer - not to mention the legend that is BOP! Much love to all and I wish you the best of luck in your final exams, assignments and performances. Bring on 2011/2012! Seb Miell Student Union President 2010/2011
