Under McKenna, Fremont High's graduation rate went from bad (69%) to worse (62%).1

After McKenna oversaw Compton Schools for 5 years, test scores were “abysmally low.”2

Under McKenna, the Pasadena School District's graduation rate fell from 83% to 75%.3

As a Compton School Administrator, McKenna was sued for failing to respond to “multiple” allegations of sex abuse and for “destruction of evidence.”7

McKenna said parents “ought to be grateful” for how the principal of Miramonte Elementary handled the school’s child abuse scandal.8 A few months later, the principal was sued for failing to protect students.9

McKenna admitted that while he was an administrator at Compton School District, graduation rates “were mistakenly inflated.”5

While a Compton School District Administrator, McKenna was sued by parents for ordering teachers to falsify their students’ grades.6

FALSE CLAIMSWhile McKenna was its Superintendent, the Inglewood School District nearly went bankrupt.

The situation was so bad, state and county education officials were forced to intervene.4

As a result of his fiscal mis-management, the School Board voted to replace McKenna as Superintendent.
