When I was a little one, I listened to the politicians , wanting to be a lawyer, instead of a farmer. At age 14, I graduated from the Kinderhook academy. In 1803, I became a lawyer for New York. While I worked, I liked to hum the songs about warfare to myself. A few years later, 1807, I married Hannah Hoes. We had four children. Abraham, John, Martin, and Smith Thompson. for the election of 1837, I, the Democrat, went up against three Whigs, wining, and taking Andrew Jackson's place, with more votes than my competitors, combined. I appointed my oldest son, Abraham, as my head secretary. Later on, he married Angelica Singleton. My vice president was Richard Mentor Johnson, before, in the House of Representatives from Ohio.
