Morse Hall (G-4) is home to the University’s renowned Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space, with lab space for some of the world’s greatest scientific and engineering minds.

Cole Hall (A-2) is home to the Thompson School of Applied Science, offering hands-on associates degrees.

Stops on the tour Beyond the tour

1. Begin your tour starting from the Admissions Office at Smith Hall (E-7).

2. Paul College of Business and Economics (E-8) moved to its new, state-of-the-art facility in 2013. Integrated instructional and business technologies and an abundance of collaborative spaces help students prepare for real success in the business world.

3. Health Services (F-8) offers medical care, wellness education, a pharmacy and services such as counseling, massage therapy and acupuncture for students.

4. Holloway Commons (G-7) is one of our three campus dining halls that win national awards for their nutritious menus, special programs, and innovative recipes.

5. Known as the “MUB,” the Memorial Union Building (G-7) houses a post office, food court, movie theater, bookstore, and office space for student organizations.

6. Each year, hundreds of students enrich their educations through academic and career advising, honors, international education, and undergraduate research programs—all at Hood House (G-7).

7. Hamilton Smith Hall (F-6) houses the Robert J. Connors Writing Center and is also where students from every major come to study Freshman English.

8. Named for Benjamin Thompson, a Durham farmer and businessman who donated his estate to establish UNH, Thompson Hall (F-6) is now the administrative building.

9. Murkland Hall (F-5) is home to the College of Liberal Arts. This building was named for Charles S. Murkland, the University’s first president.

10. Dimond Library (F-6) is a beautiful place to study, offering floor-to-ceiling windows, an abundance of natural light, and a great café.

11. DeMeritt Hall (F-5) houses the physics department. This building offers state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, a library, conference rooms, and a demonstration room.

12. Hewitt Hall (F-4) is home to the College of Health and Human Services—well known for its hands-on learning requirement in all majors.

13. James Hall (F-5) houses the earth sciences and natural resources and the environment departments. In 2010, James Hall received LEED Gold certification for its resource- conserving design.

14. The Whittemore Center (C-5) is home to our very own Wildcat champion hockey teams, concerts, and other events.

15. Adjoined to “the Whit” is the Hamel Recreation Center (C-5), home to intramural and club sports and much more.

16. Congreve (E-6) residence hall is a mere hop, skip, and a jump from campus recreational facilities.

The Horse Barns (A-1) are run by students in the equine program. Visitors are welcome. In the spring and fall, UNH hosts horse trials for competitors of all ages and abilities.

With its shops and eateries, downtown Durham is the center of a classic New England college town. It borders the UNH campus, so getting there is as easy as crossing the street.

At the center of campus, Mills Hall (H-8) offers suite-style living for 358 students.

Christensen and Williamson (J-5, J-4) residence halls incorporate a “First-Year Student Experience” theme into hall events and programs

Pettee Hall (E-4) houses the College of Health and Human Services departments of family studies and social work.

Kingsbury Hall (G-5) provides thousands of square feet of student project space where future engineers and scientists work on everything from moon buggies to molecules.

Handler, Peterson and Haaland (H-3, I-3) Residence halls offer four- and six-person suites and an attractive pedestrian promenade connecting the three buildings.

Rudman/Spaulding halls (F-4, F-5) are the center for much of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture’s “living laboratory.”

The Field House (D-3) houses UNH Athletics and includes basketball, indoor track, and swimming facilities for use by students and faculty.

Set inside a renovated 1896 railroad station, the UNH Dairy Bar (C-4) is a favorite stop for a quick bite or for hopping on the Amtrak train to Boston or Portland, Maine.
