Where have you heard these words before? Slide 2 Slide 3 DCS 2012-2013 Reading Program Songs in Psalms Slide 4 This is what you do... Everyday we will read a chapter or two from the book of Psalms. While you are reading you have to be on the look out for words/phrases that are in worship songs. Slide 5 What Do You Do When You Find a Match? You fill out a form. Bowen 8 His Love Endures Forever Psalms 136: 2 - 4 Slide 6 On the Back of the Form CHORUS: Forever God is faithful Forever God is strong Forever God is with us Forever and ever, forever (2X) From the rising to the setting sun His love endures forever And by the grace of God we will carry on His love endures forever Sing praise, sing praise Sing praise, sing praise Slide 7 Slide 8 Big Rule You cannot hand in any form early. You can only hand it in after we have read the chapter. Slide 9 When you find a song that meets the requirements it will be recognized on the Songs in Psalms bulletin board. Slide 10 Slide 11 Each month one of the Songs in Psalms will be featured in our All-School Chapel. Watch to see if your song will be chosen! Slide 12 Lets Get Started! Slide 13 Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel for the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. Slide 14 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he mediates day and night. Slide 15 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Slide 16 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Slide 17 5 Therfore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. Slide 18 6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Slide 19 Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? Slide 20 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the L ORD and against his anointed, saying, Slide 21 3 Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles. Slide 22 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Slide 23 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, Slide 24 6 I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain. Slide 25 7 I will proclaim the L ORD s decree: He said to me, You are my son; today I have become your father. Slide 26 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. Slide 27 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery. Slide 28 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Slide 29 11 Serve the L ORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Slide 30 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
