Block Assembly Note: Pay attention to the orientation of the components when assembling the quilt top.1. Sew (1) 2” x 6 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 6 ½” Fabric A block. Sew (1) 2” x 9 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A block. Trim the block to measure 8 ½” square to make (1) Block One square (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (12) Block One squares total.

2. Sew (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric C triangle and (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric E triangle together along (1) short side. Sew (1) 5 ¼” Fabric D triangle to the Fabric E side of the sewn block. Sew (1) 4 ⅞” Fabric C triangle to the long side of the new triangle to make (1) Unit 1 block (Fig. 2). Repeat to make (8) Unit 1 blocks total.

3. Sew (4) Unit 1 blocks together as shown in Figure 3 to make (1) Block Two square. Repeat to make a second Block Two square.

4. Repeat Steps 2-3 and refer to Figures 4-10 for fabric identification, placement and orientation to make (2) of each square, Blocks Three through Nine.

6. Sew (4) Unit 2 squares together as shown in Figure 14 to make (1) Block Ten square. Repeat to make (4) Block Ten squares total.

5. Place (1) 2 3/8” Fabric L square on top of (1) 2 3/8” Fabric H square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 11). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 11). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 12) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 2” square to make (2) Unit 2 squares (Fig. 13). Repeat to make (16) Unit 2 squares total.

Quilt Top Assembly(Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)7. Sew (1) Block Two square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Three square, (1) Block One square, (1) Block Four square, (1) Block One square and (1) Block Five square together in that order to make Pieced Row One.

8. Repeat Step 7 and refer to the Quilt Layout for component identification, placement, and orientation to make Pieced Rows Two through Four.

9. Sew the (4) Pieced Rows, in numerical order, and (4) 10 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric T strips together, alternating them, to make the Center Block.

10. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric U strip to each side of the Center Block.

11. Sew (1) Block Ten square to each end of (1) 3 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric U strip to make the Top Border. Repeat to make the Bottom Border. Sew the borders to the Center Block to make the quilt top.

12. Layer and quilt as desired.

13. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric C strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

14. Bind as desired.
