It is a pleasure to welcome you to Whitehaven Receptions of WhittleseaYour Wedding Day is one of the most important days of your life and careful planning is essential, in order to create that perfect and memorable occasion. Whitehaven’s experienced staff pride themselves in offering that personal touch and attention to detail, ensuring your day is unique and one to cherish.

Our wedding coordinator will be delighted to meet you to discuss all of your requirements, and give you a full-guided tour of Whitehaven Receptions and its facilities.

Whitehaven is a unique Tudor style building situated on 12 acres, with landscaped English gardens, surroundings of scenic hills and panoramic mountain views. Located in the picturesque Plenty Valley Ranges, Whitehaven is only 40 km north of Melbourne and a 40-minute drive from the Melbourne International Airport.

Whitehaven was built in 1986 by Carol and Ron Walsh, the present day proprietors, and was designed especially for weddings. Their passion for good food, excellence in service and a very personal approach makes Whitehaven truly outstanding. Their eye for detail has made Whitehaven a luxurious venue and their constant quality control has accredited them with the maximum 4 star rating in Food Hygiene.

The venue facilities are:

Whitehaven will give you a five star wedding day. Whether you are after an elegant Sit-down Wedding reception, a sophisticated Cocktail Wedding, or a stylish High Tea Wedding, Whitehaven is able to cater to your needs.We will make a perfectly orchestrated event, exquisitely tailored to fit the most important day of your life

Choosing your wedding menu is a simple task because all you have to do is contact Carol and decide with her your wedding menu. Carol is flexible and will give you suggestions as to what you can serve in accordance to the theme of your wedding and the season as to when it is taking place. We will carefully plan your menu that would please the appetite of your guests irrespective of their dietary preferences. This will assure you that you will be the perfect host on your wedding day.

Main Dining RoomCameo Room

The Main Dining Room is a delightfully decorated room with a high ceiling, large windows and conservatoire with views of the beautiful gardens and the Great Dividing Range. It exudes atmosphere and style making your special occasion a most memorable one. For an elegant sit down wedding reception the Main Dining Room caters for 150 or a fashionable cocktail reception for 280.

The Cameo Room is a classically designed lounge with a charming open fire place. The large windows have beautiful views of the gardens and the Great Dividing Range. For an elegant sit-down wedding reception the Cameo Room caters for 55 or a fashionable cocktail reception for 80.For wedding receptions in the Main Dining Room, the Cameo Room is where your guests will enjoy their pre-dinner canapés and drinks, before entering the Main Dining Room.Together the Cameo Room and Main Dining Room can cater for up to 150 for a sit-down wedding reception or 280 people for a cocktail reception

All Inclusive Sit-Down Wedding Reception

PRE-DINNER DRINKS AND CANAPÉS Whilst your guests come together in the Cameo Room, they are served a selection of hot and cold canapés and beverages with gentle background music.

THE MENU The menu comprises of a selection of; two soups, two main courses and two desserts served alternately. The dinner is served with freshly home baked dinner rolls and the main course is accompanied with fresh seasonal vegetables and our garden herbs. The dinner concludes with freshly brewed coffee and tea, handmade chocolates and port. Your wedding cake can be served with tea and coffee, or individually served in our cake bags. NO fee for ‘cake cutting’.

BEVERAGES Drinks served include Quality Australian red and white wines, Victoria Bitter, Light Ice Beer, Soft Drinks and Orange Juice. Chilled sparkling white wine is served for toasting. French Champagne can be served at an extra cost.

DINING TABLE SETTINGS With eye for detail, the guest’s dining tables are elegantly set with linen napery, and silver candelabras. The bridal table is provided with silver candelabras and a quality cake table & silver cake knife.

FLORAL DISPLAYS Freshly arranged flowers are displayed in the entrance foyer and Cameo Room.

MASTER OF CEREMONIES Our Master of Ceremonies will take care of every detail from the moment you arrive till the time of your departure.

BRIDAL CHANGE ROOM The bridal change room at Whitehaven provides the bride with a private quiet and spacious area where she can freshen up after the outdoor photographs and during the wedding celebration. A full length mirror is provided for a total bride presentation check.

DURATION OF THE FUNCTION We recognize the trust you place in us and transforming your dream into reality is our only priority. We cater to only one wedding at a time and pride ourselves on making it perfect! Evening functions are 4-5 hours duration at our beautiful venue in a countryside atmosphere with quality service. Extended time is available (extra cost)

Cocktail Wedding Reception Included in Cocktail Wedding Reception

A cocktail wedding reception is a sophisticated choice and they are now gaining in popularity for couples. Whitehaven offers a classy cocktail wedding reception with outstanding hospitality. After the wedding ceremony, the cocktail wedding begins with a selection of tray served hot and cold gourmet canapés and beverages with gentle background music. For the toasting, a glass of chilled sparkling white wine or *French champagne is served. Your wedding cake can be served with freshly brewed coffee and tea, or individually served in our wedding cake bags. There is no fee for ‘cake cutting’. Whitehaven’s cocktail wedding receptions can cater for up to 280 guests.

Whitehaven offers a stylish High Tea wedding reception in countryside ambience. After the wedding ceremony, the afternoon begins with a glass of chilled sparkling white wine or *French champagne. A wide selection of leafy teas are offered and served in individual teapots and for the coffee lovers there is freshly brewed coffee available. Assorted gourmet sandwiches, fine pastries & cakes, freshly baked scones with double cream and gourmet jam, and of course, wedding cake set on a tiered stand and followed by handmade chocolates. Whitehaven’s stylish High Tea wedding receptions can cater for up to 150 guests.

Garden Wedding ... tranquil and romantic countryside ambiance

Garden weddings and civil ceremonies are becoming an increasingly popular choice among today’s brides and grooms. Whitehaven provides the ideal garden and backdrop for your ceremony. A romantic way for a bride and groom to begin their life together, the gardens are private, peaceful and beautiful throughout the year. By holding your ceremony at Whitehaven you will get the perfect wedding garden setting.

When you arrive you will receive the red- carpet treatment, giving your family and friends an impressive first glimpse. You can exchange your personal wedding vows with your favourite song playing in the background or maybe with a string quartet! Then the rings are exchanged and your promise to each other is sealed with a kiss in a romantic atmosphere.

At the conclusion of the ceremony your guests can be served champagne punch in the gardens. Then it is time for wedding photos around the tranquil English gardens, while your guests enjoy delicious canapés and pre dinner drinks. We can ensure your special day will be perfect.

The wedding ceremony is a very special moment that you as a bride and groom will be sharing, which marks the start of your life together. The choice of the celebrant is therefore very important and there are different ways to choose somebody:

Garden Wedding PhotographyThe gardens of Whitehaven are of splendid views, creating exceptional scenes to enchant you. The beds of roses and lawns surround an antique English fountain, statues, tranquil settings and an elegant gazebo perfect for your memorable wedding photos. Some of Australia’s native birds have also created their haven in our gardens.

You are most welcome to use your own preferred photographer, or if you like, we can recommend an experienced wedding photographer. Cost of photography is not included in our garden wedding fee.
