Violated Relationships and Pride Why did Adam and Eve not repent and get

their relationship with God right again? It was their fears, insecurities, and lies that

hardened their hearts in pride. Adam shows his hard heart when he changes

his wife’s name (formerly known as woman) to Eve and announces she will be the mother of all the living.

Violated Relationships and Pride

“The law defines sin in terms of violated rules, but grace defines sin in terms of violated relationships.”

Violated Relationships and Pride God, now knowing they were in full

rebellion, gave them skins to show the need of a blood sacrifice to restore their relationship.

God shows how sin kills, but His love triumphs in restoration of their relationship. Only God could restore their relationship!

In light of this, How in the World Are You?

Therefore, our relationship with God and others:1. Begins with trust, the foundation that pleases

Him.2. Is motivated by love.3. Is restored and made new everyday by His mercy

and forgiveness.4. Is based on His communication with us.

These are the four building blocks of a relationship with God first, and then others.
