Leviticus 16:

29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the

month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a

stranger that sojourneth among you:

30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from

all your sins before YAHUAH.

31 It shall be a Shabath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in

his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the set-apart

garments: 33 And he shall make an atonement for the set-apart sanctuary, and he shall make an

atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for

the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for

all their sins once a year. And he did as YAHUAH commanded Moses.

When is the Day of Atonement? Read Lev. 23:27 & Lev. 16:29, the Day of Atonement is on the 10th Day of the 7th New Moon of the

Israelites Calendar at dawn.

How do we observe the Day of Atonement? Read Lev. 23:27-32,

It is a Set-apart Day of Gathering with Yah’s Witnesses (his people)

and afflicting our souls by fasting & not seeking “pleasures”

Aaron (his anointed son) sacrificed animals for the forgiveness of the transgressions of the

Israelites that they have committed during the year. (see Aaron’s Service Notes)

It is a Shabath Day of Rest and no working or spending money.

On the Day of Atonement, in all our dwellings throughout our generations, we are to do no

manner of work.

Will our sins be forgiven If We “Keep” the Day of Atonement in a

Foreign Land?

The day of Atonement required Aaron (his sons) to sacrifice animals to atone for our sins. We do

not have Aaron, nor the ark of the covenant and mercy seat nor are we in our land. So, No our

sins won’t be forgiven by keeping it, because we can’t.

There is no way to FULLY keep the Day of Atonement in a foreign land,or many other feast days

besides keeping the Shabath and Studying.

The Day of Atonement is a Shabath Day! It is a very good to observe the Shabath on the Day of

Atonement by resting and not working. Study the law and rituals concerning this day. Learn why

Yah gave us this day and mourn and afflict your souls to Yah and pray to return to our land.

Desire to keep this day and ask Yah to forgive us for our sins and the sins of our forfathers. The

Day of Atonement is a Great Day for the Whole Nation to Fast & Pray for forgiveness.

2 Chronicles 6:

36 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry

with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives

unto a land far off or near;37 Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are

carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We

have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;

38 If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their

captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which

thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward

the house which I have built for thy name:

39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and

their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have

sinned against thee.

40 Now, my Alahym, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent

unto the prayer that is made in this place.6:41 Now therefore arise, O YAHUAH Alahym,

into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O YAHUAH

Alahym, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.6:42 O

YAHUAH Alahym, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of

David thy servant.

Why did killing an animal make atonement for the forgiveness of our

sins?

Read Lev. 27:10-14, Yahuah gave the blood of clean animals (which he does specify for certain

sins) as a substitute for our blood because if you sin certain sins (excluding murder, adultery

etc…) blood must be shed. In place of your blood is the blood of an animal. This is why Yahuah

commanded the Israelites not to eat blood.
