  5. 5. Audience for the thriller genreOur audience mainly voted for a psychological thriller sowe knew that our target audience would be of a higherage, because of the subgenre this meant that our filmwould be certified to a higher certificate as it wouldinclude disturbing scenes which would not beappropriate for younger viewers
  6. 6. How does your product relate to realmedia texts?Se7en title sequence The se7en title sequence uses shakytext to create an edgy effect whichshows the genre is thriller We decided to add an effect calledearthquake to create a similareffectMy title sequence However the title sequencecontrasts to ours as it includesgraphical images of violence whichours doesnt, this has a certificateof 18 whereas our title sequencemay only be a 12A
  7. 7. How does your product relate to realmedia texts? Our product also relates to real media texts as we usedlots of conventions and themes from the thriller genresuch as:- Damsel in distress- Low key lighting- Chase scene- Protagonist vs antagonist- Isolated location- Using mirrors as a key prop
  8. 8. What certificatewould yourproduct be?
  9. 9. Our product would be a 15 as if it was madeinto a film it would include disturbing sceneswhich would push it from a 12A to a 15 Our product wouldnt pass as a 12A becausethe BBFC website states a work which has avery dark or unsettling tone which coulddisturb the audience would less likely to bepassed as a 12AHOWEVER
  10. 10. The title sequence on its own could pass as a 12Abecause: It allows scenes of blood and injury (briefly) Moderate and psychological threat is permitted (aslong as horror scenes are not frequent) It includes no strong language It includes no sexual scenes or activity or violence It includes no discrimination It can allow moderate violence as long as its notdwelled upon.. The chase scene in our sequencecould be scene as moderate violence
