Who You Marry Matters

• She married a man who:– Tagged Along– Made Greedy Choices– Exercised Weak Leadership

• You marry all his weaknesses!

• A Godly “helper” would HELP!– How does Lot’s wife fail to help him?

Where You Live Matters

• Lot’s Wife Was Too Comfortable In Sodom– They felt at home, but it was fake. (Gen. 19:1,9)

• Question: How could she be comfortable in a place this bad?

• Answer: She treasured her “life.”– Matt. 6:19-21, Luke 17:33, 28

• Sodom influenced the whole family.– Her unwillingness to flee– Her daughters’ choices in husbands– Her daughters’ sin

• Stability Became Her Idol, So God Made Her A Pillar.

How You Run Matters• (Genesis 19:17) When they had brought them

outside, one said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away.

• God Provides Escape• Your Life Depends On It• Do Not Look Back• Do Not Linger With Sin• We Need The Safety Of The Mountain• God Will Sweep Away Those Who Stop Running
