WHO I AM COMMUNITY MINISTRIES, INC.: WE ARE GROWING YOUTH INTO THEIR DREAMS!

“Who I Am” seeks to bring out the hidden person of African American youth ranging from middle-school through the aged-out. A Grass Root community center will service its youth within their own neighborhoods.

PROJECT SYNOPSIS: Creating quality programs from the youth’s perspective to bridge gaps between the participants and their overseers.

Mission Statement – Creating Opportunities for youth to explore solutions from within themselves to enhance Family Life, Learning, Health and Welfare for self-sufficiency To assist each youth in recognizing their full potential and develop their own goals and purposes in life, thereby fulfilling “who they are”. WIA immediate and long-term financial, physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental needs of moderate to low-income youths will be accomplished by providing safe and quality programming that support family life and development.

Vision Statement – Grow Youthful Dreams

To help African American youth to discover who they are and understand that their own personal dreams and wishes are viable and meaningful to their own success. We want them to accept their skills and abilities as God-given talents that will serve to create their own jobs and businesses. To believe that they are somebody and can achieve whatever they wish in life; dismantling low self-esteems and the need to follow rappers, athletes, and others just because of society. We believe that all are geniuses within their own rights and from vision to vision we plan to develop them.

Objective – Decrease barriers for at-risk and challenged youth and bridge gaps to succeed in learning and building their lives.

To organize moderate to low-income disadvantaged youth within the immediate location of the community center and surrounding communities through youth intervention, counseling, housing resources, entrepreneurship, nutrition, mentoring and inspire and promote law abiding citizens.

Goal – Youth and Success

To economically re-build and strengthen families, neighborhoods, communities, cities, counties, states, countries, the world.

Invite - We are very excited about our plans and what we are doing and pray that we obtain the support we will need to achieve our goals and fulfill our passion to bring out the creativity and the “Who I Am” self of youth in our attempts to make a difference in our community.
