The term License Sanitary Constructor (LSC) (which is only used in Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica) was styled to allow Plumbers holding license to, not only effect plumbing installation, but also construct the Sanitary Facilities (an outhouse) which was separate from the main house. This structure was designed to house, a Toilet, Lavatory Basin, Shower and Laundry Tub, a Kitchen Sink was usually installed in the main house, the plumbers' responsibility was not only to install the plumbing, but also to construct these sanitary facilities. In order to commission the Sewerage systems in Trinidad (Port of Spain, Arima and San Fernando were the only Sewered Areas at that time) the Water and Sewerage Authority would, on behalf of home owners is issue 'Construction Contracts' to Plumbers to construct the required Sanitary Facilities as it was necessary to have as many buildings as possible be connected to the system, in order for it to be effective, because we have Gravity Sewers and our municipal Sewer Treatment Plants need volume for efficient operation.
