Why Networking Is Necessary If You Want To Be A Successful DJ
Music and social networking have got closely intertwined in today’s culture. As such, every DJ
should know how top performers take advantage of such social platforms. Social networking
sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Rated DJs, etc have been a key element in the success of
modern performance artists. Emerging artists largely use these platforms to connect with fans,
advertise their shows and even sell their stuffs.
Rapid growth in networking capabilities and networking technologies has resulted in new
opportunity which every DJ, newcomer or pro, needs to make use of. As such, there are
thousands of DJs in every corner of the globe. It’s a highly competitive world out there and when
your product is about trendsetting and art, you got to show it to get the appreciation. Popular
music bands have been actively using sites like MySpace and Indeed to promote themselves.
Conversely, the music loving audience will thoroughly rely on video sites like YouTube and the
ratings provided by Rated DJs to hire professionals.
There isn’t any doubt on the fact that being active on social sites will surely result into increasing
your fans and they in turn will voluntarily spread the word among possible clients. As such,
everyone is on Facebook or YouTube today and this again is a highly competitive platform we
are talking about. A mere presence wouldn’t necessarily suffice the requirements. You need to
regularly make sure that you are getting heard and people aren’t getting the opportunity to “try
out something different”.

While some big names would be able to keep a separate marketing manager who would be
handling the posts – photos, updates, links, videos, etc. those with a scarcity of funds need to
find out time themselves. As we say, every job is tough and requires you to be a dedicated
professional, so is the case with music business. Besides the tiring journeys and keeping the
crowd happy, you also need to promote yourself well, otherwise you would soon be forgotten.
Gone are the days when only a few people dared to choose music as a career and those who were
present got all the attention even without trying any harder.
The music business is quite similar to any other business when seen in terms of marketing
prospects. Clients always love a personal connection and it is social networks that present the
easiest platform to directly respond to queries, requests and posts. This is also the platform
where you would find the best feedback to your performance and enhance the quality of your
product, music. Internet and online media helps you know about the latest trends in other
countries of the world and what you need to pitch in, to win a prospective deal. This is the Age of

Information and it is research, data and clearly visible facts that make you a winner. For a DJ,
the online world can also be quite fascinating!
