Unit Summary

Using group project presentation students will develop a skit that demonstrates the importance of verb conjugation using the correct verb tense, nouns, adverbs, adjectives, articles, and pronouns.Students then will concentrate on how forming sentences that follow a sequence is key for communication.Students then will analyze human ability to manipulate our language to express different emotions, needs or wants. Students will apply what they learned by showing different reactions to “wrongly formulated” sentences or conversations.

Project

• Given teacher instruction students will review and be exposed to basic Spanish grammar. Major emphasis will be given to verb tense and conjugation. The grammatical function of verbs, nouns, articles, adjectives, and adverbs in sentence structure. Students will be working together developing news broadcast, novelas, or theatre that explains and demonstrate the different aspects of grammar that will be reviewed. Students will also be encourage to use youtube, blogs and real time video.

• Teamwork is central to solving questions that are thought provoking and essential to understanding the main ideas of a unit

• Curriculum-framing questions and content standards form the base to uniting a students education to real world problems or events

Curriculum Framing Questions• Essential Question: How has Spanish transformed over the

last two centuries and how are the changes manifested in the language today?

• Unit Questions: How does our linguistic competence help develop our language?

• Do different dialects affect the grammatical structure of a language?

• Content Questions= What are the functions of the different parts of speech and how do we recognize them?

• How do can you recognize an adjective, adverb and noun in sentence and what most a sentence include if no there is no noun present?
