The below units must be successfully completed to graduate from your degree.

Elective Units

In addition to your core and major units, you will be required to complete four elective units of your choosing to gain your qualification.

Mature Age ApplicantsMature age applicants require the completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification. This includes diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees and degrees.

If you apply without a formal qualification but with significant and relevant work experience, you will be considered if you are able to demonstrate you can undertake the course with a reasonable prospect of success. Additional perform-ance criteria and prerequisite requirements may also apply for some courses.

School LeaversApplicants who have just completed secondary school require the completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification. You must also meet the associated minimum ATAR score and have completed Units 3 and 4 of English with a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Recognition of Prior Education

If you are an experienced student and already have a qualification, your prior studies may satisfy part of the academic requirements of the course. This means you may be eligible for academic credit.

You agree to be bound by the applicable standards of conduct, statutes, policies and procedures of the University, including any variations to these that the University makes from time to time.

You understand that:

Swinburne University of Technology is required under the Higher Education Support Act of 2003 to confirm your entitlement to Commonwealth assistance before your enrolment can be confirmed.

Your personal information will be collected and used for the purposes set out in accordance with the Swinburne University of Technology Privacy Collection Statement (Enrolment) which is available to be viewed on the University’s website.

The University will correspond with you by electronic means.

You will be removed from your course and cease to be enrolled with Swinburne University of Technology if you do not access the Blackboard Learning Management System by the fourth week of your first teaching period.

You understand that you are liable for all related unit and student amenities fees for the current teaching period unless you formally withdraw from the course using the online form located on the Swinburne Online website. This form must be received by Swinburne Online by the associated census date.
